AEP Texas crews continue efforts
to restore electric service in San Angelo area

January 10, 2012

AEP Texas service crews worked through the night and are continuing their efforts this morning to restore electric service to San Angelo residents who lost power as a result of a winter storm.

Heavy snowfall and tree limbs coming into contact with power lines caused a number of outages throughout the San Angelo area Monday evening.  The number of outages reached a peak of approximately 3,800 at 1 a.m. this morning.  AEP Texas crews restored service for most of these customers by 5 a.m., and AEP Texas anticipates service to be restored for the remaining 300 consumers by noon.

Electric consumers who have not had their service restored by noon and have not already called AEP Texas to report the outages are asked to call 1 866 223-8508.
