As large portions of the Midwest are experiencing extreme temperatures, including high heat index values, Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) wants its customers and employees to be healthy and safe as the temperatures climb.
I&M will temporarily suspend disconnecting customers’ power for nonpayment on Wednesday, June 10 across its service area. The company will continue to monitor weather conditions in the days ahead and extend the moratorium on disconnects as needed.
I&M employees are also navigating working in the heat. If customers see I&M crews not actively working or sitting in trucks, please know our employees are taking scheduled breaks to hydrate and avoid heat-related illnesses so they can continue providing safe and reliable power to the homes and businesses we serve.
