I&M Storm Update - 6.21 | 1 p.m.

More than 250 Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) employees and contractors are working around the clock to help restore power to our Indiana and Michigan customers who were impacted by severe storms last night and early this morning. Crews have restored more than 14,000 customers – more than 50 percent of those affected by the storms.

6-21-2021 Storm Restoration Update 10:30 a.m.

I&M Crews have restored more than 8,000 customers, and approximately 19,500 remain without power -- most of the affected customers are in the South Bend, Elkhart and Southwest Michigan area.

I&M Storm Update - 6.21 | 9:30 p.m.

In less than 24 hours, Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), has restored power to more than 90% of the approximately 28,000 customers whose service was disrupted after two severe storms on Sunday evening and early Monday morning. As of 9:30 p.m., fewer than 2,600 customers remain without power and crews will work through the night to restore as many as possible. And, the company will continue working to restore power throughout the day tomorrow for any customers still impacted.

More than 3,000 customers have been restored after severe thunderstorms moved through Indiana Michigan Power’s (I&M) service territory Sunday evening, causing nearly 15,000 customers to lose service (more than 4,000 across southwest Michigan and 10,000 in Indiana - of which the majority are in South Bend and Elkhart). Another round of severe weather may move through overnight, which could slow restoration efforts and cause additional outages.

Strong thunderstorms barreled through Saturday in Indiana Michigan Power’s (I&M) service territory which caused approximately 3,800 customers to lose service. Crews have restored power to many of those affected, and as of now, fewer than 1,500 customers are without service in the Muncie, Winchester and Marion area.
