Installing an At-home EV charging meter

We recommend hiring a licensed electrician to install the necessary sub-meter, according to the schematic below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Off-Peak rates available specifically for your EV apply from 11pm-6am every day.

No. You can charge your EV any time, same as before. However, you’ll get the benefit of the lower rate only during Off-Peak hours.

It is not possible to adopt the Off-Peak rate because the net metering equipment does not differentiate between On-Peak/Off-Peak EV charging.

You’ll need a sub-meter base and a sub-meter; the sub-meter is provided to you free of charge. You are responsible for hiring an electrician to install the sub-meter base. Once that is complete, we install the sub-meter.

Like the primary electric meter, it remains with the house and we maintain ownership of both. Being Off-Peak ready is a great selling point when selling your home.

Your application undergoes a review for eligibility immediately, and we’ll coordinate with you to install a sub-meter once your electrical installation is inspected.
