I&M Welcomes New Corporate Communications Director

FORT WAYNE, Ind., – Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), an operating company of American Electric Power (NASDAQ: AEP), is pleased to announce the hiring of Stephanny Smith as the new Director of Communications.

A Fort Wayne native, Smith joins the I&M team as the company continues its leadership in transitioning to a cleaner and greener future along with providing focused energy service products to serve its customers. As a seasoned communications professional, Smith has held positions in local and federal government, as well as the private and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining I&M, Smith served on the leadership teams of the Parkview Foundation and the Allen County Public Library.

“We are excited to welcome Stephanny and her extensive communication and marketing skills to our already talented team,” said Katie Davis, vice president of External Affairs and Customer Service. “Smith will be essential to our long-term strategic vision to communicate with customers on how they can utilize I&M as their energy advisor to conserve energy and take advantage of new technologies and programs as well as learn how I&M is engaging with our communities as we deliver safe and reliable power to homes and businesses in Indiana and Michigan.”

Smith began her new role with I&M on May 16.
