FORT WAYNE, Ind., – Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), an operating company of American Electric Power (NASDAQ: AEP), is pleased to announce the hiring of Stephanny Smith as the new Director of Communications.

A Fort Wayne native, Smith joins the I&M team as the company continues its leadership in transitioning to a cleaner and greener future along with providing focused energy service products to serve its customers. As a seasoned communications professional, Smith has held positions in local and federal government, as well as the private and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining I&M, Smith served on the leadership teams of the Parkview Foundation and the Allen County Public Library.

Smith began her new role with I&M on May 16.
