FRANKFORT -- Kentucky Power customers who use its website to conduct business or obtain information will notice an enhanced and more user-friendly site following the recent introduction of a revised "kentuckypower.com."
 
The company redesigned and restructured its website based on customer feedback and site usage patterns. The new version is more attractive and should be easier and more logical for customers to navigate. The site still contains a host of useful information and provides customers a safe and efficient means of conducting business with Kentucky Power.
 
"Some customers told us it was difficult to find certain functions or information on the old website. Of course, this defeats the purpose of a convenient website, so we felt a redesign was in order, " said Tim Mosher, president and chief operating officer of Kentucky Power.
 
"Our web support team spent more than a year talking with users and watching usage patterns to design a more useful and beneficial web space. What we’ve come up with is a site that is visually appealing and logical to use."
 
The company offers a broad array of services at the site -- services customers can take advantage of at their convenience 24-hours a day. For instance, visitors can pay their bills online; sign up to receive statements electronically; discover energy-saving information and tips; find outage information; update their account information; and learn about electrical safety -- among many other things.
 
"We encourage customers to go to kentuckypower.com and check out the site," Mosher said. "We think they will be impressed with our redesign and find it more comfortable to conduct business and interact with us via the internet."
 
Kentucky Power is an operating unit of American Electric Power and provides electricity to approximately 175,000 customers in all or parts of 20 Eastern Kentucky counties.
