Neighbor to Neighbor Program

The AEP Ohio Neighbor to Neighbor Program lends a hand to those who are experiencing financial hardships and need help to get back on their feet. Administered by Dollar Energy Fund, the program provides eligible customers with a utility assistance grant applied directly to their bill.

Winter heating grant assistance has ended for the 2023-2024 program year and will reopen in November 2024. Please check back in Fall 2024 for additional information.

Neighbor to Neighbor Program - Indiana

The I&M Neighbor to Neighbor Program lends a hand to Indiana customers who are experiencing financial hardships and need help to get back on their feet. We have partnered with Dollar Energy Fund and local organizations to provide grants to help you pay your electric bill.

Applying for Assistance

You can apply for the Neighbor to Neighbor program at a local community agency. Neighbor to Neighbor is designed for Indiana customers with a household income that does not exceed 150% of Federal Poverty Level.

Giving to the Neighbor to Neighbor Program

Interested in donating? Just a few extra dollars a month can help an Indiana neighbor in need. All donations are used to assist limited-income families in Indiana.

Make a monthly donation through your bill

Sign up to donate an amount you choose from each bill. You can:

  • Choose a fixed monthly amount to donate, or
  • Round up your bill to the nearest whole dollar, donating the difference
