Doing the small things right, looking out for each other, passing on the safety mindset to new line workers – these are the safety priorities contributing to the Avilla line department’s success. The team is marking 19 years and counting without a reportable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) event.

“We always hear ‘everyone goes home in the same or better condition than they arrived at work.’ But, for our team – we take that commitment to heart,” said District System Supervisor (DSS) Jim Stairhime. “We take the time to do what’s right for the job and each other, while focusing on doing the small things right.”

The safety milestone is impressive given the long hours, working in all weather and terrain and the amount of time behind the wheel all to serve our customers.
