A power company is about more than poles, wires and electricity. It's also about the people who answer the phone, respond to messages and help customers find the information they need.

Behind the phone or screen is an I&M customer service employee. They are often there during some of life's everyday moments, whether that's setting up service for a new home, answering questions about a bill, finding ways to save energy or providing updates during an outage. They take time to listen, understand each customer's situation and help connect them with the right resources.
“Knowing the area and the people who live and work here helps me understand our customers and businesses and what matters most to them,” said Aaron Oyler, Business Account manager for the Marion area. “I enjoy being someone they can count on and it's rewarding to see our community continue to grow."
Every call, message and interaction is an opportunity to make someone's day a little easier for homeowners and local businesses. And, for Customer Services Account Representative Miranda Wilcox, it’s also a chance to make memorable connections.
"I once worked with a customer whose home's electrical wiring wasn't up to code and was causing power quality issues. While helping find a solution, we found the meter base was in a bathroom and our line servicer had to sit on the toilet to access it,” Wilcox said. “It was an unexpected and funny moment that had all of us, including the customer, laughing and reminded me that building relationships often comes with a few memorable stories along the way."
