Marc E. Lewis is Vice President at Indiana Michigan Power (I&M), which is an operating company subsidiary of American Electric Power (AEP). Marc has responsibility for I&M's state governmental and environmental relations and state regulatory activities in both Indiana and Michigan, including I&M's energy efficiency service offerings and renewable energy projects.
Previously, Marc was an assistant general counsel with AEP's Legal - Regulatory Services, where he was based in I&M's headquarters in Fort Wayne. In that position, he had responsibilities for regulatory activities primarily in Indiana and Michigan, as well as Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas. In addition to regulatory matters, Marc previously had responsibilities for corporate legal matters, bankruptcy issues, energy delivery matters and legislative affairs.
Marc is a member of the Boards of Directors for the Indiana Energy Association, the Indiana Manufacturers Association, the Indiana Legal Foundation, and the Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute. He has twice served as the chair of the Utility Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association.
Marc earned a law degree from the Ohio State University in 1981. Previously, he had earned an economics degree from the University of Kentucky in 1977 and did graduate studies in economics at the Ohio State University in 1980. Before joining AEP in 1986, Marc was a staff attorney with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia and a law clerk for the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.
