Every morning, two Buchanan, Mich., children wake up, get dressed and venture outside – but not to play. They insist on starting their day greeting I&M’s line workers.
The children – ages 1 and 2 – stand outside their home and wave at the workers for 10-15 minutes before they leave the service center. Recently, the line workers couldn’t start their day without meeting their biggest and littlest fans.
“We had to come over and say hi to the kids who make sure we start our day off right,” said Donny Williams, Distribution System supervisor. “We enjoy putting a big smile on their face and who knows this could spark an interest in the STEM field for them as they get older.”
The line workers handed out mini-hardhats and other trinkets for the children. According to their mom, the kids were “smiling ear-to-ear and thinking they won the lottery” after the visit.
