I&M Wants Your Help Naming the Falcon Chicks

April 26, 2023

Here’s your chance to choose an im-peck-able name for a baby falcon!

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is asking for your help naming three peregrine falcon chicks that recently hatched to parents Moxie (mom) and Jamie (dad). Since we won’t know the gender until the chicks are banded, we asked the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne to compile a list of names:

Three falcon chicks atop Indiana Michigan Power Center in Fort Wayne, Ind., are ready for names.
  • Stewart
  • Squirt
  • Sam Wilson
  • Bob
  • Jordan
  • Rose Beth
  • Marshmallow
  • Tiffany
  • Felicia
  • Stacey

You have until the end of the day Wednesday, May 17 to vote for your favorite names. Click here to take the survey.

The winning names will be announced Friday, May 19 at a banding and naming ceremony in partnership with Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehab, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Indiana Audubon Society.

Until then, you can watch Moxie, Jamie and their new chicks 24/7 via our popular FalconCam available at IndianaMichiganPower.com/FalconCam.

This is the tenth year Moxie and Jamie have nested atop Fort Wayne at our downtown headquarters. Since 1996, 70 falcon chicks have hatched in the nesting box making it one of the more productive falcon restoration sites in the Midwest.
