Supporting Reliability and a Community's Traditions

July 14, 2025

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) serves communities in southern Indiana, including those in Spencer County, up through the central and northern portions of the state before going into southwest Michigan. While we provide reliable power for customers in most of those areas, we also support several organizations that call these cities and towns home. Toward the most northern tip of our service territory is Bridgman, Mich. Beyond its sandy beaches and views of Lake Michigan is a community that takes pride in what their town has to offer.

I&M is honored to serve the town of Bridgman and support many initiatives that provide connectedness and vitality to the community. Most recently, our partnership to support the Bridgman Street Dance event on July 12 helped with the return of a favored tradition. The popular event, which is part of the grander “Celebrate Bridgman” day, was last held in 2020, before COVID forced its temporary pause. Those attending in previous years noted this event, which brings the streets to life with music, dancing and food vendors, creates cherished memories and unites the community.

By supporting communities like Bridgman, we are brightening the same neighborhoods where our team works, lives and plays. In recent years, I&M has contributed to the revitalization of Bridgman’s Toth Street Park, which now includes an inclusive space for families to enjoy. Additional employee-driven opportunities at the Cook Nuclear have also supported the Bridgman community, as did the smiles brought on by I&M’s mascot, Louie the Lightning Bug, riding in style at a parade to celebrate the town’s 75th year.

Visit our community page for more information on how I&M is supporting our local communities from Rockport, Ind. to Bridgman, Mich. and how staff are making a difference through volunteering.
