Keeping a mental check list of everything going on is hard. As schedules or needs change, you might find that you missed something, causing added headache. Having a system to keep you informed can make life just a bit easier. Through your Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) account that is possible – and important.
Alerts from I&M are a simple, effective way to stay connected, prepared and in control of your power needs. In addition to peace of mind, alerts offer personalized communication that align with your I&M account. This includes bill pay. If you are not enrolled in autopay or other payment program, billing-specific alerts offer a payment due reminder. It also confirms when a payment has been received. This allows customers to avoid missing a payment resulting in late fees and instead, enjoy the comforts of their home.
Now imagine you are at work or away from home for the day. After you return home, you have laundry to complete, dinner to prepare and your phone battery is dropping steadily. As later afternoon severe weather rolls through, it takes out power to your neighborhood. Without enrolling in alerts, if power is off by the time you get off, you will arrive home to darkness while we work safely and quickly to restore service. Having an alert for outages, offers the opportunity to adjust after work plans or routines, and access additional information, like your estimated time of restoration (ETR). I&M works to keep customers safe and informed, such as through these alerts, in both blue sky days and severe weather.
Enrolling in alerts does not mean you receive everything, but instead, you can sign up to receive the information beneficial for you. Customize your preferences for outage, billing and payment alerts by text and email. You can also sign up for email newsletters on topics that interest you, as well as periodic notifications of new programs and promotions.
