PSO Installing First Smart Meters In Owasso

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is kicking off a project to install approximately 13,000 digital Smart Meters in the City of Owasso and, to mark the long-awaited beginning of the project, will hold a ceremonial Smart Meter installation and photo op at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.
 
The installation of Smart Meters is a major step in a pilot program that’s converting PSO’s electric distribution system in Owasso to new gridSMARTsm  technology.

WHEN:  Tuesday, March 15, 2 p.m.
WHERE:  9010 North 132nd East Avenue, Owasso

PSO announced the gridSMART pilot project in August, 2010. The installation of the Smart Meters is a significant milestone in the project, which will improve reliability and safety, and provide customers unprecedented information and control over their energy usage and electric bills.
