How would you best describe the work your organization does?
Our organization is centered around food and a passion for helping others. By leveraging food to engage our community, offering lessons on improved cooking and equipping teens for future employment through food services, we take pride in serving our entire community. Our team also works to redirect food to deliver high-protein meals to the hungry and disadvantaged.
What audience does your organization commonly serve?
Out of a Jam strives to serve an expansive audience within our community. For younger audiences, we foster a love for cooking and healthy eating through our six-week culinary classes. Our teens are a big part of what we do, benefiting from hands-on experience through our food truck and catering enterprise to provide employment experience. For adults, we offer lessons on smart shopping and cooking classes that highlight how to provide nutritious meals for their families.
How would you describe your organization’s partnership with I&M?
We have valued our relationship with Indiana Michigan Power. We have relied on their volunteer efforts for a few projects as well as their financial resources to help our organization further our mission of serving the community. We have been very blessed by this collaboration so far and we look forward to a team effort to better serve our community in the future.
