It’s National Engineers Week. At I&M, our engineers often work behind the scenes, ensuring the lights stay on for our customers. One of those engineers is Cecilla Becker.

“Reliability is about preventing outages and reducing the impact if an outage occurs,” Becker said. “We keep our customers at the forefront of each decision we make and want to make sure that when customers flip a switch, turn on the oven, or start a load of laundry, the power works and stays on.”

Like Becker, I&M’s engineers focus on reducing the frequency and impact of power outages. This team plays an integral role in developing plans to install self-healing technology, analyzing electrical equipment and leading projects to boost reliability for decades to come.
