Neighbor to Neighbor Bill Pay Assistance - Indiana
We partner with Dollar Energy Fund to help Indiana families pay their energy bills. Grants help prevent disconnection or restores service. Winter heating assistance is available Nov. 1 - May 15. Summer cooling assistance is available July 1 - Aug. 31.
IQ Arrearage Forgiveness
At this time, we are no longer accepting applications as the program is full.IQ Arrearage Forgiveness helps Indiana customers pay their past-due balance. You may be qualified to have up to 60% of your past-due bill, up to $850, paid by I&M. To qualify, your household income can not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Emergency Rental Assistance Program (IERA) - Indiana
IERA is designed to increase housing stability for Indiana renters whose income has been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Qualifying Indiana renters can receive assistance with rent and utility costs up to 12 months. If you are a homeowner in need of assistance the Homeowner Assistance Fund (IHAF) may be able to help.

IHAF is designed to help Indiana homeowners with their a mortgage payment if they are experiencing hardship due to COVID-19 If you are a renter in need of assistance the Emergency Rental Assistance (IERA) program may be able to help.

Direct gifts to a recipient of your choice through our Friends & Family Direct program. You decide the amount to give, and your loved one's account will be credited immediately upon receipt. Download and mail the Friends & Family Direct form to brighten someone's day.
Help Someone Facing Disconnection
You can help a relative or friend keep their power on by receiving notifications when their account is at risk of being disconnected. Often, people add this free service to accounts of vulnerable customers. You are not responsible for paying the bill.
- Print a Third-Party Authorization Form
- Have the primary account holder complete, sign and mail the form authorizing you to receive notifications on their behalf
- As an authorized third-party, you will receive notifications if their account is at risk of of being disconnected.
