Indiana Michigan Power is helping boost East Central Indiana as a destination to work, live and play by supporting Forge Your Path, a Website that is part of a marketing campaign to boost the economies of the 10-county region that includes the cities of Muncie and Marion.

An Economic Impact Grant from I&M was a major factor in launching the Website, which offers descriptions of the area’s amenities and activities as well information about relocation and career development.

“The idea is that there’s something here for everyone and that makes our region unique,” said Mindy Kenworthy, President/CEO of the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership. “Everyone from current residents to graduates looking for their next step to tourists here for a short visit should find a compelling reason to keep coming back to East Central Indiana.”

Kenworthy and a group of the area’s stakeholders, including Community Affairs Manager Rob Keisling, established the Forge Your Path theme and campaign.

“East Central Indiana offers great potential for both employers and those planning to start or expand their careers, and I&M is pleased to support this campaign to help spread the word about the opportunities there,” said Ashley Savieo, AEP Economic & Business Development Manager in I&M’s service territory.

I&M worked with several Hoosier cities and other customer groups to create the Economic Impact Grant program in 2018 to support catalytic economic development projects in the Hoosier communities I&M serves serve. I&M has awarded more than $550,000 as part of the program.
