Indiana Michigan Power takes pride in working with local, regional and state economic development organizations to promote economic growth in our service territory, to bring new jobs and business to our communities.

I&M's economic development manager and external affairs managers offer economic development services throughout I&M's service territory. They include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Offer electric rate analyses based on the client's needs
  • Work with the client to create project "request for proposals" from the communities I&M serves in Indiana and Michigan
  • Receive/assemble proposals and package into one submission to client for review
  • Work closely with local, regional and state economic organizations to insure maximum client assistance
  • Create multi-city/state itineraries and meetings with local/state officials for site/buildings/community project tour

Indiana industrial rates are 16% below the state average and 20% below the US average.
MICHIGAN
Residential 8.45c/kWh 13.38c/kWh 12.07c/kWh
I&M's average residential rate is 46% less expensive than the state average and 45% less than the national average.
Commercial 8.44c/kWh 10.44c/kWh 10.2c/kWh
I&M's average commercial rate is 27% less expensive than the state average and 31% less than the national average.
Industrial 6.94c/kWh 7.57c/kWh 6.64c/kWh
Michigan industrial rates are 8% below the state average.
