I&M is performing maintenance work this spring that must be completed in order to raise the water level to spring and summer operating level.

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) has established a plan to best prepare for the impending April 8 solar eclipse, which will directly impact areas within totality including the Muncie-Marion area and southern portion of Fort Wayne for just under three hours. 

Indiana Michigan Power is trimming trees near transmission power lines in East-Central and Southeast Indiana using an aerial saw beginning this morning and continuing for about two weeks.

Indiana Michigan Power’s work to enhance reliability in the Muncie area will temporarily affect traffic patterns near Ball State University beginning Monday, April 1.

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) will be delaying the annual process of raising the water level upstream of the Elkhart Hydroelectric Plant on the St. Joseph River to its normal spring and summer level. I&M performed maintenance work during the winter months that will continue into the spring and must be completed in order to raise the water levels.
